Hi,
I tried to encode a video from frames with
mencoder mf://*.png -mf fps=25:type=png ...
and it failed with the following message.
BTW: it works with jpg. The files can be found at the given URL.

yep looks like an unsupported png file
should be reported to ffmpeg too...
