Description
Jan. 24, 2005
specs:
gentoo linux up-to-date
console is using vesa fb at 1024x768
VGA compatible controller: Trident Microsystems CyberBlade/i1
mplayer -vo vesa file
this results in proper placement of tv-out. But not accelerated.
mplayer -vo vesa:vidix file
results in improper placement of tv-out. But is accelerated.
It looks quite nice, but it is not centered.
using x with trident driver
mplayer -vo xvidix and/or -vo xv file
does not enable me to use tv-out. But is accelerated
using x with vesa driver
mplayer -vo xvidix
does enable me to use tv-out, but there is green on some of the screen, and it
is not centered.
mplayer -vo vesa:vidix
enables me to use tv-out, there is no green, but it is still not centered.
All these things work good on the lcd.
I have slightly different results. With via's modified trident driver, I can use
mplayer -vo xvidix and/or -vo xv file
with tv-out, but with xvidix I get the green rectangle at the bottom of the
screen (and a thin green line at the left).
Using latest KnoppMyth with mplayer 1.0pre7try2-3.3.5.
Turns out xv works very well in this configuration, so I'm not sure xvidix is
even necessary or useful.
